Cover of my book of Mythological Beasts 2

In this publication, I will show how I made the cover of my book. Having made the sketch, I just had to take a photo and pass it on to an illustrator where I would give it more details and a better illustration

I put the image in illustrator, I lower the "opacity" of the image to be able to draw on top of it, I create another "layer" and start drawing on it.

I use some brushes that I have created myself to be able to draw all the details better.

Having the drawing already finished, I erase the image of the sketch and start coloring. I order the work table with the colors that I am going to use, I search for all the shades of the colors in Google.

I test different shades for the beast's coat to see which one looks the best. When I already have it, I begin to color the large and small spaces, so that no unpainted space is visible.

After painting everything I start to draw small details like shadows

This will be the finished character, but there is still the background of the image and some more details.

The next step would be to make the maze, I decided to make it circular and not square because it seemed more attractive to the eye.

Use the amount of 11 circles to do it, after I put focused lines in the direction of the center which is where the minotaur would be, cut the lines with the "cut" tool to create the walls of the maze.

I only drew half of the maze because the other half would be covered by the body of the minotaur. After I put the background of the maze in brown to make it believe that it is earth and the red walls as if they were walls of fire and to make it more believable to blur them a bit. As a last detail, I added a texture to the brown color to make it look more earthy.

The next step would be to join the 2 parts and complete the book cover

then add details like drool coming out of his mouth like he was enraged.

To make the effect use Photoshop, the tools (elliptical marquee) to make the circle of the tears, then use the tools (gradient) only on the sphere with a dark and transparent color so that it blends with the background.

To give it a darker focus use a gradient layer to darken the image and then brighten the eyes with the (brush) tool and lower the opacity.

And this would be my finished book cover later I would add the title and more details.
