Lorenzo Mattielli
Mattielly was born in Vicenza, Italy, the exact date of his birth is unknown. He was an apprentice to the sculptors Vicenzan Orazio. In his life he had 3 wives, the first was the daughter of Angelo, one of the members of the sculptors of Vicenza Orazio, with the union of Angelo's daughter and Mattielly was able to join the sculptors guild. He remarried in 1712 due to the death of his first wife, his new wife Elisabeth Saceoni passed away in 1717, after having 4 children. In 1723 he married Maria Magdalena for the last time and with her had 7 children. Lorenzo's eldest son named Francesco would join Lorenzo's workshop in Vienna.
Among his first commissions in Vienna, he made statues for the new Palace that were designed by Antonio Beduzzi. A large number of the sculptures were destroyed in the Second World War.
One of the sculptures that survived the second world war.
Lorenzo and Antonio Beduzzi became great friends and decided to work together, Antonio Beduzzi painted and designed and Lorenzo made the sculptures.
During his stay in Vienna Lorenzo was able to develop a personal style of refined elegance in his sculptures after his trip to Italy.
Neptunbrunnen
King August III built a church designed by the Roman Gaetano Chiavari. I asked Matiielli to provide 78 sculptures, 4 sculptures would be allegorical: Belief, Hope, Charity and Justice, and the other sculptures represent 74 saints.
Lorenzo Mattielly died before finalizing the king's commission, his son Francesco finished his father's work in 1752.
This is the link to see the sculptures:
I did not put an image because they were of poor quality.
One of my favorite Lorenzo sculptures is Hercules and Cerberus
I like this sculpture because the artist was able to represent the great strength of Hercules, and also the great details of the hair, beard and muscles. You also have a great reference to what I'm doing, about mythological beasts, when I see Cerberus I can see that an uncontrollable and furious animal.

As in your last post, there is a lack of direction here - what is this research for - it seems like background research but what is it's purpose. You are making an educational resource, how is this related to that?
